The Sixth Season of the World Poker Tour, 2007-2008

The sixth season of the World Poker Tour is the latest installment in the series. A wild finish is expected from this season as some of the biggest names in poker compete in an all-out battle for poker dominance. The event continues its long and colorful tradition with exciting tournaments that would definitely capture the hearts of viewers worldwide.

The season started off with a five-day Mirage Poker Showdown held in May 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tournament was eventually won by Jonathan Little, who took home a very big $1,066,295. The event was then followed by the Mandalay Bay Poker Championship that was held in the following month. This tournament was won by Shawn Buchanan, who took home a $768,775 grand prize.

In July 2007, the Bellagio Cup III was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. Numerous players joined this prestigious tournament which was eventually won by Kevin Saul, who took home a $1,342,320 grand prize. This tournament was then followed by the Legends of Poker tournament in August 2007. The event took place at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, California.

In the month of September 2007, three major poker events were held including the Gulf Coast Poker Championship at the Beau Rivage Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, the Borgota Poker Open in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and the Turks & Caicos Poker Classic at the Players' Club. These events were won by William Edler, Roy Winston and Rhynie Campbell, respectively.

In October 2007, the Spanish Championship was held at the Casino Barcelona in Spain. The six-day event ended with Markus Lehman taking home a grand total of $703,803. The latest tournament held in the sixth season of the World Poker Tour is the North American Poker Championship. It took place at the Niagara Fallsview Resort Casino in Canada. The event was won by Scott Clements, who had a strong finish towards the end of the tournament. He took home a grand total of $1,137,593.

The sixth season is only half-way through. Expect more fun and thrilling finishes as the events continue to unravel throughout the remainder of the season. Some of the events that will still take place in the latter parts of the 2007-2008 season are the World Poker Finals at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Borgata Poker Classic at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The WPT World Championship will take place between April 19 and 25, 2008. It will be held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Surely, all the best players in poker will convene at this venue to compete with one another for poker supremacy.
